Highly Selective Program

Our highly selective program accepts 20 applicants each year. Students of all majors are welcome to apply in the spring before or during their first year. This interdisciplinary aspect enriches everyone’s experiences and encourages critical thinking and creativity.

Integrity

Students in the program must maintain a 3.5 GPA. They hold each other accountable and rely on their strong moral principles to achieve this goal.

Intellectual curiosity

While academics are a foundation of our program, a student’s eagerness to learn is more valuable. Students take honors courses outside their major.

Cross-cultural engagement

We require a study abroad experience — and offer supplemental money to do so. We believe traveling outside our boxes positively impacts worldviews and boosts confidence.

Service

Students volunteer to exercise empathy and make a difference in their own backyard. Many students help with English Language Learners (ELL) and Adventure Zone, a summer camp for local and Japanese middle school students hosted at Doane.
