The Doane experience is about more than earning a degree. We educate and encourage our Tigers in areas like leadership and service. Because where our alumni go, they need more than a degree.
SUCCESS Scholars
The Sustaining Undergraduate Classroom and Career Excellence for STEM Students (SUCCESS) program provides scholarships, research stipends, and programmatic support to help 10 new students each year as they pursue majors in selected STEM fields. Over their four years at Doane, these students have access to close mentoring relationships, customized courses, and research experiences that will lay a foundation for their future careers in STEM careers.
Hansen Leadership Program
Live, learn and serve alongside other student leaders on campus. Develop your leadership skills and grow into a social citizen ready to tackle any challenge.
As an honors student you’ll gain access to speaker and study abroad opportunities – and have the chance to collaborate with fellow members on a research project.
Honors students immerse themselves in interdisciplinary classes, developing a lifelong intellectual curiosity. Every year, our program accepts 20 applicants - students of all majors are welcome. This interdisciplinary aspect enriches everyone’s experiences and encourages critical thinking and creativity.
Honors students explore local multicultural and volunteer opportunities, thinking globally and acting locally. Honors students are required to study abroad, as we believe traveling outside our boxes positively impacts our worldviews and boosts confidence.
While academics is a foundation of the honors program, a student’s eagerness to learn is more valuable. Their lifelong curiosity and the program's emphasis on interdisciplinary learning will carry with them into their careers and lives as they engage with and transform their global communities.
