What is your name and graduation year?
Logan Fetzer, 2021

What was your major or degree program?
Media Communications

Tell us a little about what you've done since graduating. What is your current role? Where are you working?
After years of shooting photo and video as a student at Doane, I couldn't have been more excited to find a position doing what I love at my found home. I am the Videographer for Doane's Office of Strategic Marketing, and it's an amazing feeling to share the stories of our great school each day!

How do you feel Doane prepared you for your career?
When you have a support system that knows who you really are, knows your goals, they'll ensure that you're finding the opportunities to grow towards those goals. And that's a support system that each and every Doane student has from the moment they step on campus.

What do you consider the best part of your Doane experience?
The spirit of communication with the professors- I was never being spoken to, but spoken with, in each of my classes, fostering an incredible learning environment.

What is something you're proud of accomplishing or achieving while at Doane? What are you proud of accomplishing or achieving in your career?
Finding a community was the biggest thing I've ever done for myself. With severe social anxiety, walking into any room can feel like climbing a mountain. Being at Doane helped me break down those walls and find my fit and a whole new family.

Who has been/is a major influence or role model for you from Doane? How have they helped you?
David Swartzlander taught me more than I could ever list here, but the most important was the importance of seeking the truth.

What advice would you give to current students?
Remember to breathe and look around on all your trips around campus. Enjoy the space, remember the details, remember the faces, remember the voices. Memory is the one sweet spite to the march of time.

What's something you like about yourself that other people may not know?
Open eyes and ears, always learning from the world around me, and the will to change it from the inside out.
