Doane student Mak Hatcliff stands with her hand on her hip in front of a grey-painted wood wall, wearing a white shirt with butterfly sleeves and denim shorts.
Mak Hatcliff ’25 became the fastest Tiger basketball player, in the history of both the men's and women's teams, to reach the 1,000-point club. She accomplished the feat in 43 games, during the Dec. 29, 2022 game against the Bellevue University Bruins, breaking the previous record of 48 games set by Don Vyhnalek in 1957. Hatcliff has been named GPAC Player of the Week three times this season, and six times since joining the Tigers. Last year, she was named GPAC Freshman of the Year and set a single-season scoring record with 726 points.
