Doane University is continuing its partnership with 10/11 News to recognize Nebraska educators with the 10/11 Golden Apple Award. Doane has sponsored the award since 2018.
As a leading university for educators as undergraduates and graduates, Doane’s partnership aims to recognize the impact teachers have on individuals and in communities across Nebraska. Many people, no matter their age or profession, remember a teacher who encouraged or inspired them, someone who made a positive difference in their life.
“The promotion 10/11 News does for the Golden Apple Award generates awareness of the impactful work of teachers, while also giving nominators the ability to share appreciation for the commitment to students and families that last beyond the classroom,” said Doane’s Director of Marketing, Crystal Hollmann.
Doane is a part of the review and voting process each month (September-May) for nominated candidates with the selection committee. The award is announced at the end of the month.
Anyone can nominate an educator, administrator or staff member by filling out a submission form.
