This program prepares aspiring designers with professional training for careers in digital and print design fields coupled with a fine arts foundation. Graduates are able to relate art theory to brand design and support design decisions to prospective clients. The major equips learners to utilize a variety of application software programs appropriate for multiple contexts.

Motion graphics, animation, design theory, and other key learning components culminate into portfolio development for the senior project. This portfolio also serves as a showcase of talent for potential employers during each graduate’s job search.

More Than a Tutor

The Academic Support Center provides students with the support, resources, and tools to succeed. Support is available in a variety of areas including writing, reading, time management, proofreading, and tutoring.

Graphic Designer

2018 Median Pay: $50, 370 per year
Job Outlook: +4% from 2016-2026
Graphic designers create visual concepts, using computer software or by hand, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate consumers. They develop the overall layout and production design for applications such as advertisements, brochures, magazines, and reports. 

Multimedia Animator

2018 Median Pay: $72,530 per year
Job Outlook: +8% from 2016-2026
Multimedia artists and animators create images that appear to move and visual effects for television, movies, video games, and other forms of media. 

Web Developers

2018 Median Pay: $69,430 per year
Job Outlook: +15% from 2016-2026
Web developers design and create websites. They are also responsible for the site's technical aspects, such as its performance and capacity, which are measures of a website's speed and how much traffic the site can handle. They are also responsible for the look of the site, and may create content for the site. 

Marketing Manager

2018 Median Pay: $132,620 per year
Job Outlook: +10% from 2016-2026
Advertising, promotions, and marketing managers plan programs to generate interest in products or services. They work with art directors, sales agents, and financial staff members. 

Production Artist

2018 Median Pay: $52,000 per year
Job Outlook: +4% from 2016-2026
The production artist takes conceptual and strategic solutions and brings them to life. They use computer software to design page layouts for newspapers, books, brochures, and other items for print or online publication.

Art Director

2018 Median Pay: $92,780 per year
Job Outlook: +5% from 2016-2026
Art directors are responsible for the visual style and images in magazines, newspapers, product packaging, and movie and television productions. They create the overall design of a project and direct others who develop artwork and layouts.
