The following performances and events represent the most important opportunities to hear our students perform throughout the year. TIGER PEP BAND HIGH SCHOOL INVITATIONAL

Saturday, September 9, 2023, 10:30 a.m.

Calling all high school band students! If you play a band instrument and are interested in seeing what performing in a university-level ensemble is like, please join the Doane Tiger Pep Band on Saturday, September 9. You will have the opportunity to perform alongside college students and experience the excitement of a home football game. We will meet for a brief rehearsal and warm-up on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. in Heckman Auditorium on Doane's Crete campus. View Campus Map Here. We will play a few pieces at a pre-game tailgate, then parade march into the stadium. During the game, the band performs in the stands. Lunch and a Doane t-shirt will be provided. FROSHMORE VOCAL FESTIVAL AND GRAND CONCERT

Wednesday, September 20, 2023, Froshmore Vocal Festival, 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Froshmore Vocal Festival Grand Concert at 6:00 p.m.

High School Band Directors are invited to nominate up to three quartets of talented 9th and 10th-grade singers to participate in this one-day festival. For only $30 per student, participants will receive the opportunity to spend the day rehearsing with Doane students and performing at the Grand Concert which includes music mailed to schools in advance, lunch and dinner for all, and a free t-shirt for each student. Band directors may nominate up to three quartets, with each quartet consisting of a soprano, alto, bass, and tenor, using this Froshmore Vocal Festival nomination form. 32nd ANNUAL HOMECOMING CONCERT

Sunday, October 1, 2023, 3:00 p.m.

Homecoming is a special time on the Doane campus, as many alumni return to enjoy a weekend of events, including this concert. The concert features performances by Doane Choir, Collegiate Chorale, and the Doane Concert Band. 


MUSIC VISIT DAY & MUSIC EDUCATION FORUM

We invite all high school students and their parents to visit campus to learn about music at Doane. Visitors will have the opportunity to attend a performance of our choir and band programs and observe a sample music scholarship audition. Students interested in becoming music teachers are encouraged to sign-up for our Music Education Forum, which launches Music Visit Day. For more information and to register: www.doane.edu/visit


FALL FESTIVAL OF WINDS CONCERT

Two high school honor bands join forces with the Doane Concert Band to perform a late afternoon concert of great wind music.

This festive weekend is one of the most popular and anticipated music events on the Doane campus and features the department's major student ensembles in two performances. Tickets are required for this event and can be reserved on Eventbrite. There will also be a one-hour pre-concert reception in Nyrop Hall located on the lower level of Perry Campus Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. prior to the Saturday night performance. 

If the Christmas Festival sells out, all are welcome to attend the final dress rehearsal, Saturday, December 2, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Tickets are not required for the final dress rehearsal.


DOANE VOCAL FESTIVAL GRAND CONCERT

Monday, January 8, 2024, 6:30 p.m.

This concert features 160 of the state's top vocalists from Nebraska's premier honor choir festival. Doane Choir and selected outstanding soloists also perform.


DOANE BAND TOUR HOME CONCERT

Thursday, January 18, 2024, 7:30 p.m.

The Doane Concert Band & Jazz Ensemble will present a final concert after returning from their tour. Please join us in welcoming them home. 


DOANE CHOIR TOUR HOME CONCERT

Monday, February 12, 2024, 7:30 p.m.

Doane Choir presents a final home concert after returning from the tour.


SWING INTO SPRING CONCERT

Saturday, March 23, 2024, 7:00 p.m.

Jazz Unlimited, Doublewide, and Jazz Band present an evening of popular music from a variety of genres and periods.


SOUNDS OF SPRING CONCERT

Sunday, April 2, 2024, 3:00 p.m.

The Doane Concert Band and the Jazz Ensemble present an afternoon concert of great music for winds.


PRESIDENT'S CONCERT

Friday, May 17, 2024, 8:00 p.m.

Doane Choir and the Doane Concert Band present a final concert during commencement weekend.
