Financing Your Education

Education is one of the most important, and possibly the first, big investment of your life. Spend some time researching scholarships as they can be a big factor in financing your years at college. If you enrolled in classes at Doane College prior to Fall 2014, then please use the following document to determine your academic scholarship requirements. Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarship $5,000 / $10,000

To qualify for the scholarship, students must have a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and be enrolled in an accredited college for university for the Spring 2015 semester.

Students may apply for the scholarship through the Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarship Website.

 

NOVA Chapter Linda Emery Memorial Scholarship $750
  • Female
  • 25 years of age or older
  • Non-traditional student
  • Living in Lincoln or Lancaster County area

Scholarships must be postmarked on or before Monday, December 15, 2014, to be considered eligible.  Applications postmarked after the deadline will not be reviewed.

The scholarship will be awarded for the second semester of the 2014-15 academic year.

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program

To be eligible for this award, applicants must:

Qualified candidates may apply online starting October 13, 2014 through January 8, 2015 or until 25,000 applications are submitted, whichever comes first.

Renewable for up to an additional three years for a total of $40,000.

Rocky Mountain Alumni Scholarship $1,500

Must be a student from the Rocky Mountain area in Colorado.

Specific requirements can be found on the Rocky Mountain Alumni Chapter site.

This is a one-time $1,500 award scholarship.

Karman Healthcare Scholarship

Students participating must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college, or university in the U.S.

Nebraska Business Hall of Fame Scholarship $2,000

This $2000 scholarship will be awarded to a full-time sophomore or junior college student (to be used for their junior or senior year of study) enrolled in a Nebraska accredited Business school.

Nebraska Opportunity Grant (NOG) Maximum Award $3,000

Nebraska resident who demonstrates high need. Limited availability.

Eligible recipient names are submitted to the State of Nebraska's Coordinating Commission of Post-Secondary Education pending approval.

2 full-time semesters or 4 full-time terms per academic year

Junior College Graduate Award $7,000/yr

For transfer students graduating from a two-year college.

Students must remain in good academic standing to renew this award.

Excellence Funding Varies. Included in the total financial aid package as required by federal regulations and college policies.

Excellence Funding is given to students who will make an immediate impact to a program as determined by the coach for an athletic program or a director of a fine arts program.

This scholarship will be renewed according to the requirements set forth by the director or head coach in the area of the scholarship.
