Tiger Tech

Tiger Tech is Doane University's help desk and the first level of support for all of Doane University's students, faculty, and staff. Tiger Tech supports and maintains all laptops, desktops, printers and computer labs, and tracks all assets. Tiger Tech is responsible for all cabling infrastructure, phone systems, personal computers, scanners, printers, and other office technology.


Services provided:

PC hardware configuration, troubleshooting, consultation, reconfiguration, software installation, data recovery, anti-virus installation, field support for PCs, printers, scanners, voice, data and video cabling, phones, purchase tracking, and installation of specialized software.

Get started by going to https://www.doane.edu/myaccount and click on the "Activate my Gmail Account" link. Enter your user ID when prompted and click the "Activate my Account" button.

Note: Should you decide to change your password, you will need to use the "Reset my Password" link, then reactivate your account using the "Activate my Gmail Account" link to sync it up and access your account.

Doane User ID:

Your key to most university resources is your user ID. It consists of two parts: your user name and your password. Your user name will be formatted as firstname.lastname (e.g. thomas.doane). Your password will be formatted as DcMMDDYYYY. You will replace the MMDDYYYY with your 8 digit date of birth. (E.g. If you were born on February 29, 1997, then your password would be Dc02291997).

Remember to treat this information like you would your most prized possession! This user ID allows access to systems containing YOUR information and it should be kept confidential!

Systems that use your user ID include: Doane Gmail, Netfiles, WebAdvisor, Blackboard and lab machines.

Wireless Network:

On your mobile device: Connect to the "Doane" wireless network, then open your browser (Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.) and go to https://www.doane.edu. Register your device and you'll be good to go!

On your PC or Mac: Go to Wi-Fi networks, select "Doane" wireless network, then open your browser (Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.) and go to https://www.doane.edu. Register your device and you'll be online!


Wired Network:

Doane University provides each student with one wired port in their dorm room in addition to their wireless access. This network is known as ResNet.

There are certain restrictions on how you can use the network outlined in the Appropriate Use Policy accessible online at https://www.doane.edu/faq/acceptable-use-policy.


Blackboard:

Doane's learning management system is Blackboard. To access Blackboard, go to bb2.doane.edu. Log in using your Doane user ID.

All computers should have an anti-virus program to help protect against software that can hijack your information. Doane uses Microsoft Security Essentials or Microsoft Defender to protect our machines. These programs come standard on most Windows machines, but can be downloaded for free at http://microsoft.com/en-us/safety/pc-security/microsoft-security-essentials.aspx.

We also recommend Malwarebytes available at http://malwarebytes.com/.

It's also recommended to protect yourself with Doane's e2Campus safety alerts at https://www.doane.edu/campus-alerts.
