Teresa Anderson earned her nursing diploma from Mary Lanning School of Nursing, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Creighton University and her Master of Science in Public/Community Health Nursing from University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing. Teresa worked at Mary Lanning School of Nursing for many years in a variety of areas from Intensive Care to Home Health/Hospice to Community Health.
Teresa is an Advanced Practice Nurse Clinical Nurse Specialist in Community/Public Health certified through the ANCC. Since 2003, she has served as Health Director for Central District Health Department. Teresa is married with three adult sons. She loves to cook without a recipe and loves to take walks with her husband and their two golden retrievers.
Teresa teaches the Community Health Course because “This course is a bit of a journey for students. They are challenged to think about health and health care at a population-based level: What makes us sick? What makes us healthy? How can we as health professionals contribute to better health in our communities?”
