Frees and Smith Selection

Smith Hall (formerly Men’s Hall) was renamed in 1977 to honor Charles C. Smith, class of 1887, a former trustee and benefactor of the college. Rennovated in 2011 this building is a co-ed upperclassmen hall.

Frees Hall was completed in 1931 as a women’s residence, and was designed by Dean and Dean, Architects. The building matches Smith Hall in design and was built to accommodate 185 students.  Rennovated in 2009 this residence hall is now a co-ed building and houses primarily first-year students. For the 2017-2018 academic year upperclassmen are restricted to the triples in Frees.
