Sheldon Hall

Sheldon Hall, a co-ed residence hall located east of Frees Hall, opened in 1970 as a women’s residence hall. The three-story building was called "the new dorm" until 1978, when it was dedicated as Sheldon Hall after Margaret Thompson Sheldon, class of 1886. She was the first woman on the Board of Trustees, first Dean of Women and a professor of English, serving the college for 21 years.

A renovation project in 2010 enhanced the hall’s living spaces and added an exterior gathering area with a fireplace, lounges, a classroom, and a music room.

Other amenities include a vending machine, free laundry facilities, and live in ResLife staff members.

Each room in Sheldon provides a set of furniture for each resident. The rooms come with a twin XL bed and mattress, closets, window shades, a desk with a chair, dressers, tiled flooring, trash can and recycling bin, and lofting equipment for the bed.

Check to see which laundry facilities are available for use. You must be on the Doane network to access this site.
