Oregon Trail Band Director Nomination & Recommendation Form

Oregon Trail Band Director Nomination & Recommendation Form

The 12th annual Oregon Trail Band sponsored by Doane University will be held Monday, January 7, 2019, at Kimball High School. There will be one band which will be conducted by Dr. Jay W. Gilbert. Fifteen schools participated last year, and we hope you will consider joining us this year. We thank Kristi Hiles-Smith for her willingness to host this event at Kimball High School.

This year the band will prepare the following four selections: Crossroads by Michael Oare, Amazing Grace arranged by John Edmondson, Three Czech Folk Songs arranged by Johnny Vinson in a flexible instrumentation arrangement and Advance March by Harold Bennett, edited by Larry Clark.

In selecting the band this year you will need only to fill out the Nomination and Recommendation form below, one time per student. It is very important that you rank your students from your best students (1) to you least best (2, 3, 4, etc.). I promise to take at least the first and second ranked students regardless of school size. Sight-reading is another important consideration, so please answer both sight-reading questions.
