Wood Resigns as VP of Advancement
Institutional Advancement Vice President Jerry Wood has resigned his position with Doane College effective August 8, 2012.
"It has been a great experience and I've been fortunate to work with wonderful people," Wood said. "I'm heading back east to be near my children, grandchildren and other family. I wish the very best for the college, the students, faculty and staff."
Wood took the helm of Advancement in 2009. In his position, Wood oversaw development, alumni and for many years the Office of Communications and Marketing as well. During his time at Doane, Wood helped to establish the Doane College Society, which had just begun in 2008. He also has launched the Legendary Coaches Campaign in support of Doane's $18.7 million sports and fitness facility project; the Tigers on Tour innovative program for young alumni; and the Pave It Forward campaign for Cassel Theater.
"We are extremely grateful for Jerry's contributions to Doane over these past years," said Doane College President Jacque Carter. "We wish him the very best in his future endeavors."
The President's Office is determining an interim plan for the Office of Advancement.
