Tigers Top Briar Cliff in GPAC Action

The Tiger women's soccer team put on a strong display and they took care of Briar Cliff University, 4-0, in GPAC action on Saturday.  The win moved the Tigers to 2-2 in conference play.

Doane jumped on the board early as Ally Tamerius scored in the third minute of play off a pass from Samantha Exstrom.  Exstrom was playing in her first game since an injury earlier in the month sidelined her for the previous four games.

Sarah Medina scored in the 35th minute off a pass from Kelsie Grgurich to give Doane a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

In the second stanza, Doane jumped on the board in the first 47 seconds as Samantha Exstrom scored unassisted.  In the 55th minute, Kayleen Stanek scored off a pass from Kelsey Bryant to close out the scoring.

Jordan Ludwig picked up her second win in net for the Tigers, going 90 shutout minutes.  She posted two saves behind the solid Tiger defense that limited Briar Cliff to four total shot attempts.
