The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) All-Sports Fall Standings came out this week following the completion of the regular season sports and Doane College is tied for the lead through six completed sports.
The Tigers posted runner-up finishes in the GPAC in volleyball and soccer to earn 10 points apiece while the women's cross country team earned eight points. Points are earned based on GPAC regular season standings and do not include post-season play. (Thus, Doane's wins over Hastings in post-season play do not move them ahead of the Broncos for points.)
On the men's side, Doane earned nine points in football with a third place finish, eight points in cross country and five points in men's soccer. The Tigers totaled 28 points in women's sports and 22 points in men's sports. Hastings had the same points on each side and is tied with the Tigers with 50 total points.
The next standings will come out after the completion of the basketball, wrestling and indoor track seasons in late February. Doane will add wrestling to their list of sports next season.
