Tigers Take Runner-up in GPAC Title Game

The Tiger volleyball team jumped out early against the undefeated Red Raiders but when the final point was won, NAIA No. 4 Northwestern claimed the GPAC Tournament title in a four-set victory. Game scores were 21-25, 25-21, 25-21 and 25-18 in favor of the Red Raiders. It was the second straight year that Doane fell to Northwestern in the GPAC Championship game.

Doane was paced by Ashley Axmann's 17 kills. Susan Rollman added 12 kills and Emily Max posted 11 kills for the Tigers.

Heather Davison set up the attack as she dished out 41 set assists and added 10 digs. Nicole Skolnick finished with a match-high 18 digs and was perfect in serve receive, 30-of-30. Desiree Erikson finished with 17 digs and two ace serves for the Tigers.

Rollman led the blocking attack, picking up four total blocks with three ace blocks. Lisa Lord and Max finished with two apiece.

Doane will await a likely bid to the NAIA National Tournament that will begin with the Opening Round on November 20.
