Tigers Stay Undefeated in GPAC

Doane improved to 2-0 in GPAC play as they topped Dordt College in men's soccer action on Saturday evening in Crete.  The Tigers defeated the Defenders, 3-0, and improved to 3-4 overall on the year.

The Tigers jumped on the scoreboard in the 24th minute of play as Kyle Smith and Monday Akogwu broke past the Dordt defense.  Akogwu dropped a pass to Smith who found the back of the netting on his shot.

Tom Heavey scored in the 44th minute of play as he received a pass from Stefan Travis.  Doane took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, the Tigers jumped on the board for their final goal as Jordan Schafer found Heavey with a pass and he beat Dordt's Brian Verwolf for his second goal of the game.

Doane out-shot the Defenders 20-5 for the game.  Dordt was only able to get one shot on goal and it was saved by Chris Kavinsky.
