Tigers Slow Down Cougar Attack

The Doane volleyball team picked up a three-set victory over Sioux Falls on Saturday, capping a three-match road trip over the past five days. The win improved the Tigers' record to 17-4 overall and 8-1 in the GPAC.

Doane was strongest in sets one and three, posting 13 kills or more in each game. Game scores were 25-20, 25-23 and 25-12.

Susan Rollman led the Tigers in kills with 11 as she posted a .429 attack percentage. Ashley Axmann was also in double-figures, collecting 10 kills on the afternoon.

Heather Davison dished out 32 assists and added two ace serves. Cassie Reicks added two ace serves for the Tigers who posted six in the match.

Defensively at the net, Rollman collected five blocks while Axmann finished with four. Emily Max added three with Lisa Lord and Davison picking up two apiece. The Tigers had nine team blocks in the match.

In the back row, Nicole Skolnick led the Tigers with 17 digs while Desiree Erikson added 11 digs.

Doane will continue their road swing with a match at rival, Hastings College on October 13.
