Tigers Move to 7-1 with Win

Doane moved to 7-1 on the season with a come from behind victory over Friends University on Saturday afternoon at the Hastings Classic.  The 78-71 victory was paced by Brent Cole's 30 points and nine rebounds.

The Tigers trailed 35-31 at halftime after cutting an eight point lead to four in the final two minutes.

The two teams were all squared with 11:30 left after a Kolby Hamilton free throw tied the game at 46-46.  Hamilton's second free throw gave Doane their first lead since their first possession of the game. 

Friends came down to retake the lead but 10 straight points from Cole put Doane up nine, a lead the Tigers would not give up. 

For the game, the Tigers shot 52 percent, including 57 percent in the second half.  Dane Cruz and Kolby Hamilton added 11 points while Todd Kraus chipped in 10.  The Tigers out-rebounded Friends 30-24.

Doane will be at Midland Lutheran College on November 28.
