Tigers Knock Off No. 7 Wisc-Eau Claire

Doane picked up their second win of the season over Franklin Pierce University, defeating FPU 9-5 in the first game on Tuesday.  In the final game of the Spring Break trip, the Tigers knocked off NCAA D3 No. 7 Wisconsin-Eau Claire, 8-0.

Against FPU, Doane trailed early as they allowed four runs in the top of the first inning.  A six spot in the fourth inning gave Doane an 8-4 lead.  Doane received two hits from Jennifer Montoya and Kristin Schmidt.  Alyssa Ledon picked up two RBIs.

Jennifer Liddell picked up the win, allowing four runs in four innings.  Megan Steele came in to pitch the final three innings and pick up the save.

Wisconsin-Eau Claire was limited to two hits by Joy Vasa who pitched a complete game.  She walked three and struck out two in six innings of work.

Alyssa Ledon had the big bat, going 4-for-4 with five RBIs.  Kristin Schmidt, Whitney Poole and Hannah Kroese had two runs a piece.
