Tigers Fourth at Nike Meet

The Doane women's cross country season got underway on Saturday morning in Sioux Falls, S.D., as the Tigers participated in the Nike Heartland Pre-Regional Meet. Doane finished with a team score of 127 and placed fourth in the meet. Northwestern won the meet with a team score of 36.

The Tigers were paced by Lizzie Kolbo's 11th place finish and time of 20:21.51. Halie Smith was the second Tiger runner to cross the line as she ran a time of 20:46.00 and placed 16th.

Two freshmen were the next to come across the line for Doane. Storm Mellick placed 37th with a time of 22:02.70. Mariah Morgan posted a time of 22:14.66 and placed 42nd for the Tigers. Jillian Ourada closed out the team scoring with a time of 22:49.76 and a 53rd place finish.

Other Tigers participating in the meet were Marysol Cazares (60th, 23:13.27), Katherine Roemmich (69th, 23:53.47), Miranda Bledsoe (70th, 23:54.16) and Allison Hartnett (71st, 24:01.75).

Doane will be in action again next Saturday when they go up the road to Lincoln to take part in the Woody Greeno Invitational hosted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
