Tigers Fall to Upset-Minded Lancers

A slow start on the road caught the Tigers in a deficit early on and Doane fell to Mt. Marty, 79-58. The loss was the Tigers' second in conference play.

The Lancers shot 64.3-percent from the floor in the first half as they built a 42-24 lead. Doane scored the first basket of the game but it would be their only lead as Mt. Marty jumped ahead 21-8.

In the second half, Doane pulled within 16 points, 49-33, but the Lancers responded with a 28-13 run to go up by 31. Doane chipped away in the final five minutes to cut the lead to 21 at the final buzzer.

Jake Johnson led the Tigers with 14 points and Nick Reed added eight points and a team-high six rebounds. Joshua Riser had four assists for the Tigers. Doane was held to 36.7-percent shooting for the game.

The Tigers will take on Nebraska Wesleyan at 4:00 PM on Saturday, December 11, in Lincoln.
