Tigers Fall in Sioux City

Doane traveled to Sioux City, Iowa, for a weekend doubleheader against two of the top teams in the GPAC.  Unfortunately for the Tigers, they were unable to continue their winning ways and came home 0-2.  Doane is 11-9 overall and 5-3 in the GPAC, falling out of first place.

Doane won game one 30-22 before dropping the next three games in their loss to the Chargers.  For the game, the Tigers only hit .101, far below their season average.  As a team, Doane posted 51 kills but also had 31 attack errors.

Kari Hochstein led the team with 15 kills and a .286 attack percentage.  Ivie Speer added 13 kills and Chelsee Marvin notched 11.  Marvin also had eight total blocks.  Heather Davison and Ashley Sluka each posted 21 assists while Kaylee Lubken collected 37 digs.

Briar Cliff was led by Alex Anstine's 14 kills.  Geri Heimann and Micaela Borer added 12 kills a piece.  Anstine had a game-high three ace serves.

Tigers at Morningside
The Tigers' struggles continued on Saturday, as the Mustangs defeated Doane 3-0.  The scores were 30-24, 30-13, 30-28.  In game two, Doane only posted nine kills while Morningside had 21 kills on a .543 attack percentage.

Hochstein led the team in kills, notching 10 on 24 attacks.  Marvin was second on the team with six.  Hochstein added four blocks.  Sluka had a team-high 17 assists while Davison added 11.  Amy Janky had a team-high 15 digs.

The Mustangs were led by Amber Jarzynka's 19 kills and five blocks.  Cara DeStigter added 14 kills.
