Tigers Fall in Second Half to Dordt

The Tiger women's soccer team dropped their second straight conference game, falling to defending conference champion Dordt College on Saturday evening in Crete.  The Defenders scored twice in the second half to pull out a 3-1 victory over the Tigers.

Doane struck first as Ally Tamerius put in a header off a pass from Jayne Wagner near midfield.  The goal came in the 13th minute of play.  Shortly after the Tiger goal, Dordt bounced back on a similar play where Kate Du Mez put in a header off a long pass from Kristi Ouwinga in the 18th minute.

In the 70th minute, Dordt took the lead on a goal by Lindsay Baker as she received a pass from Kelly Smies.  The final goal of the game was in the 86th minute as Doane knocked a centering pass into their own net.

Alicia Exstrom finished with nine saves for the Tigers while Steph Goslinga posted five for Dordt.  The Defenders out-shot the Tigers 27-16 for the game.
