Cold shooting for the Tigers, combined with hot shooting for Park University, led to an 85-52 loss on the first day of the Peru State Classic. Doane shot 25-percent for the game while Park shot 56-percent from the floor.
Doane trailed by 22 at halftime as they shot 9-of-32 from the floor, including 2-of-14 from behind the 3-point arc. Park, on the other hand, hit 17-of-33 shot attempts in the half.
The second half wasn't any better for the Tigers as Park shot 61-percent while Doane was held to 23-percent.
Three players collected eight points apiece for the Tigers: Tyler Cyboron, Jack Lind and Tyler Weatherholt. Brett McFarland led the team with five rebounds with Trent Schlautman adding four.
Park was led in scoring by Clyde McKinney's 16 point effort. Four Pirates finished with double-figures in the scoring column.
Doane will face host Peru State College at 7:00 PM on Saturday, November 8.
