Tigers Fall in Defensive Battle

In a defensive battle, Doane fell to Nebraska Wesleyan to open GPAC play.  The Tigers, limited to 32.6-percent shooting, lost 56-42 in Crete on Tuesday evening.

The loss dropped their record to 4-5 overall.

NWU out-scored the Tigers 11-3 in second chance opportunities, picking up 14 offensive rebounds compared to Doane's seven.

Jack Lind led the Tigers with 12 points and seven rebounds.  Tyler Weatherholt added nine points off the bench to go with four steals.

Brandon Arp led NWU with 12 points and two assists.

Doane will travel to Hastings to face Bethel College on the first day of the Hastings Classic.  Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
