Tigers Fall by Three Points

The Tiger women's basketball team jumped out to an early 20-9 lead but it was not enough as No. 18 Black Hills State battled back to defeat No. 25 Doane, 67-64.  The loss was the first on the year for the Tigers who are now 3-1.

The Tigers were led by Lindsay Anderson's 25 points.  Nicole Anderson added nine points and six rebounds.  Doane shot 43-percent from the floor for the game.

Plaguing Doane were offensive rebounds given up as the Yellow Jackets finished with 17 offensive boards.  The last was the most crucial as BHSU grabbed an offensive board following a missed free throw with 11 seconds remaining and trailing by two.  The Yellow Jackets hit 1-of-2 free throws to take the three point lead but Doane was unable to tie the game in the final seconds.

BHSU was led by Katelynn Lamb's 19 points and eight rebounds.  Jenna Bolstad finished with 12 points.
