Tigers Compete at Concordia Twilight

In preparation for the final weeks before the NAIA National Track & Field Meet, the Tiger tracksters participated in the Concordia Twilight meet held in Seward on Friday afternoon. In the small meet, Doane athletes combined for four automatic NAIA marks and four provisional marks.

In the women's 100m dash, Blair Dixon ran a time of 12.36 to hit a provisional mark as she won the race.

Katie Bartels won the high jump with a mark of 1.65m (5-05), a provisional mark.

Leah Petersen won the pole vault, hitting an automatic mark of 3.53m (11-07.00).

In the triple jump, Janelle Weber won with a leap of 11.46m (37-07.25) for an automatic NAIA mark.

Whitney Collins posted a provisional mark in the shot put with a toss of 12.63m (41-05.25).

In men's action, Sufian Kalil posted a provisional NAIA mark in the 5,000m run with a time of 14:58.29.

Jared Schuurmans won the shot put and discus, posting NAIA automatic marks in both events. In the shot put, he finished with a mark of 17.56m (57-07.50). In the discus, he hit a throw on his final attempt in prelims to advance to finals and posted his best throw of 55.59m (182-04) in his second to last attempt in the finals.

Doane will host a last chance NAIA meet on Friday, May 13.
