Tiger Throwers Compete in Fremont

The Tiger throwers took on their fellow competitors from Hastings and Midland on Wednesday at the Midland University Field Events Meet in Fremont.

Doane posted five automatic marks and three provisional marks at the meet.

In the women's javelin, Ashton Henderson took second with a throw of 125-04, placing behind Midland alum Kami Wettlaufer. Whitney Collins won the shot put with a throw of 42-09.50.

Sarah Hinman and Henderson posted automatic marks in the discus. Hinman had a throw of 146-05 while Henderson posted a mark of 143-06.

Collins was joined by Haley Mondt in hitting provisional marks in the hammer throw. Collins had a toss of 157-01 while Mondt had a throw of 154-06.

On the men's side, Doane dominated the discus with the Top Four finishes. Zack Lindsley won the event with a throw of 170-00, an automatic mark. Also hitting automatic marks were Alvin Voss and Darin Smith. Voss threw 166-00 while Smith went 161-04. Vince Krejci picked up a provisional mark with a throw of 153-03.
