Sunderland Foundation Provides $80,000 Grant
Doane has received an $80,000 grant from the Sunderland Foundation in Overland Park, Kan., toward completion of the Education and Hixson Lied Art Building now under construction.
The $11 million, 55,500 gross square-foot building between Perry Campus Center and Miller Pond will open for classes in the fall of 2007. It will house Doane's Education and Art programs, as well as a Welcome Center that includes Doane's Admission and Financial Aid Offices, an outdoor plaza, and historic memorabilia.
The two-year grant is the largest of several awards made to Doane College over the years by the Sunderland Foundation, which primarily supports construction and renovation projects for higher education, religious and nonprofit organizations in the Midwest region.
