Spencer's First Goal is a Game-winner

The women's soccer team picked up a 4-1 victory over Mount Marty College on Saturday to wrap up the home slate of games for the regular season.  The win gives the Tigers 10 on the year, the first time since 2004 that they have reached double-figures in victories.

Samantha Exstrom got the Tigers on the board first with a goal three minutes into the game.  Kelly Spencer scored her first goal of the season two minutes later to put Doane ahead 2-0, a lead they took into halftime.

In the second half, Exstrom scored her second goal of the game to put Doane ahead 3-0 but in the 61st minute Mount Marty picked up a goal from Abbey Hunhoff to cut into the lead.  Jordan Hedgecock answered back for the Tigers with a goal in the 76th minute to put Doane ahead by three once again.

Alicia Exstrom finished with four saves for Doane as the Tigers out-shot Mount Marty 34-6.  Shots on goal were 13-5 in favor of Doane.
