Richards Earns GPAC Honor

(GPAC Release) The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following women's soccer players-of-the-week for October 11 -October 17, 2010. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2010-2011 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women's Soccer Players-of-the-Week

Women's Offense- Courtney Richards, Doane - Forward
Doane forward Courtney Richards is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Richards, a freshman from Papillion, Nebraska, scored two goals and added an assist as the Tigers defeated Morningside 3-0 in league play. Doane is now 7-5-1 on the season and 4-4 in GPAC matches.

Women's Defense- Beth Russell, Midland - Keeper
Midland keeper Beth Russell is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Russell, a junior from Olathe, Kansas, posted two wins in goal for the Warriors. For the week she totaled seven saves and allowed just one goal over 185 minutes. Midland is now 9-2-2 on the season and 6-1 in GPAC matches.
