Peterson, Livers Lift Tigers Past Broncos

Doane resumed play after nearly a week off with a rivalry match with the Hastings Broncos.  The Tigers, traveling on the road, had their hands full with the Broncos having Homecoming this week.  In front of a boisterous crowd, Doane came away with a 3-0 victory over their heated rivals.  Game scores were 25-20, 25-23 and 25-22.

The victory improved the 19th-ranked Tigers to 15-4 and 2-1 in the GPAC while Hastings, receiving votes in the national poll, fell to 18-3 and 2-1 in the GPAC.

Doane was paced by senior Jessy Livers' 17 kills.  She had a solid all-around game as she was 11-of-11 in serves, 16-of-16 in serve receives and added two total blocks.

Susan Rollman was second on the team, posting seven kills and two blocks.  Kellie Peterson added six kills and four total blocks while Ivie Speer added six kills.  Terra Andreasen and Lisa Lord added three kills each.  As a team, Doane finished with a .279 attack percentage.

Heather Davison and Cassie Reicks combined for 37 of the teams 39 set assists.  Davison posted 19 to go along with one ace serve while Reicks notched 18 set assists and an ace serve.

Emily Schwisow collected a game-high 19 digs for the Tiger defense.

Hastings was led by Kendra Schwein and Leah Dostal as each collected 11 kills.

Doane will be at Midland Lutheran and Dana this upcoming weekend.
