"One Day. One Doane." set for March 4

One Day. One Doane.

One Day. One Doane.,” a 24-hour giving day organized by Doane University’s Office of Advancement, is set to take place from Wednesday, March 4 at 10:00am to Thursday, March 5 at 10:00am.

The Office of Advancement has a goal of 240 donors to contribute to Doane’s annual fund during the 24-hour period and a number of giving day challenges will be implemented throughout the time frame. The Doane community is also encouraged to wear orange and black during these two days to celebrate Doane’s past, present, and future.

“One Day. One Doane.” is not only a day to generate support for our Annual Fund, but it’s a day for our employees, alumni, students, and friends to come together and share their Doane pride,” said Doane Annual Fund Director Julie Rasgorshek. “We have activities planned on campus and in the community, as well as on our social media pages. We encourage everyone to get involved and show their Doane pride.”

Rasgorshek added that Elle’s on Main in Crete will host a Dine Out for Doane event the evening before the campaign kicks off. From 5:00pm to 10:00pm Tuesday, March 3, 10% of all sales will be donated back to the Doane Fund.

The advancement office encourages the Doane and Crete community to help them officially kick off “One Day. One Doane.” on Wednesday, March 4 at Artisan Mark, located at 1144 Main Street in Crete. From 7:30 am - 9:00am, meet members of the Doane Advancement staff, pick up some Doane swag and be part of the celebration. Ten percent of all sales will be donated back to the Doane Fund. All gifts made during the event (up to $500) will be matched dollar for dollar by Crete Physical Therapy and be credited toward the goal of 240 donors.

Several sponsors have come forward to help make this day a success including: Artisan Mark, Crete Area Medical Center, Crete Physical Therapy, Elle’s, and Pinnacle Bank.

Show your Doane pride and help make Doane’s second annual 24-hour day of giving a huge success. If you can’t join us at Artisan Mark, you can follow and support “One Day. One Doane.” online at or follow Doane University Alumni on Facebook and Twitter.

Additional matches for gifts received during the 24-hour campaign are being established and will be announced March 4.
