Northwestern Holds off Doane

Northwestern was able to build a 12 point lead at halftime and the Red Raiders were able to make it stand up as they defeated Doane, 69-57, in the men's basketball GPAC opener for both teams.

Doane received a game-high 19 points and five rebounds from sophomore Jens Scholl.  Trent Schlautman and Brett McFarland added nine points apiece.  Bryan Meyer matched Scholl with five rebounds.  Tyler Cyboron had two assists to lead the Tigers.

Northwestern was paced by Brent Dunkelberger's 16 points as he was one of four players in double-figures for the Red Raiders.  Ryan Hoogeveen, Ryan Stock and Stuart Goslinga each had five rebounds to pace Northwestern.  Hoogeveen had a game-high six assists.

Doane will travel to Blair on Tuesday to take on Dana College in an 8 PM tip-off.
