Mollring Joins Doane Coaching Staff

Doane College Head Football Coach Matt Franzen announced today that he has named Grant Mollring offensive coordinator for the Tigers.

Mollring comes to Doane after serving as the wide receivers coach at the University of Nebraska-Kearney from 2008-09. He was a graduate assistant for the Lopers program in 2007 and worked with the running backs.

"We are excited about the football knowledge that Coach Mollring brings to our staff," Franzen said. "He has been a big part of the explosive offense that UNK has been known for the past two seasons."

Mollring's previous football coaching stint was four years as an assistant at Kearney High School. He served as head basketball coach and assistant track coach at Eustis-Farnam High School while working as a physical education teacher at EFHS.

"Grant has a solid knowledge of Nebraska when it comes to recruiting," Franzen commented. "He has established relationships with coaches across that state, from the metro areas to the smaller schools where we get some of our best players."

A 2003 graduate of Nebraska-Kearney, Mollring earned a degree in physical education and western civilizations. In 2009, he earned his Master's Degree in physical education.

He is a native of Cambridge, Neb., and has a strong family connection with Doane as his father is a Doane graduate.
