Midland Spoils GPAC Home Opener

The Tiger women's soccer team put up a battle with Midland Lutheran College on Tuesday afternoon in Crete but fell to the Warriors, 2-0. The loss moved the Tigers to 0-2 in conference play for the third straight year.

Doane out-shot the Warriors, 8-3, in the first half but Midland was the one to get on the scoreboard as Kayleen Colson scored off a pass from Courtney Crawford.

In the second half, Midland attacked the Tigers and out-shot Doane 14-3. The Warriors had the first 11 shots of the second half, including a goal from Kelsie Schmitz.

Kelsey Stark finished with five saves for Doane. Six different players had a shot on goal for the Tigers.

Doane will host Mount Marty College on Saturday, September 25, at 5:00 PM
