Kosmos Sets Record

Doane senior Katie Kosmos broke her own school record in the pentathlon today in the Kip Janvrin Multi-Events.  Kosmos set a mark of 3,822 points in the five events, topping the mark she set last year of 3,799.  She scored high in the 55 meter hurdles (936 points) and the high jump (916 points).  She tied a personal best in the high jump with a mark of 5-08.75.

Senior Dani Nott posted 3,338 points, collecting 812 in the 55 meter hurdles for Doane.  Freshman Brittany Chenoweth scored 2,686 in her first collegiate multi-event meet, posting 736 points in the high jump.

University of Central Missouri, coached by Kip Janvrin, also took part in the event.  Cody Varner placed second with 3,424 points.

On the men's side, Central Missouri's Ross Smithey won the heptathlon with 4,781 points.  He collected 834 points in the 55 meter hurdles.

Kosmos was featured in the Journal Star sports section.

Doane's Forrest Gregory placed second with 4,638 points.  He posted 715 points in the 55 meter dash and 697 points in the long jump.  Cody Ingold finished third with 4,523 points.
