Khouri to Receive Arboretum Honor

Former Doane Treasurer and Vice President Pappy Khouri will receive a Tree Planters State Award from the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum.  Khouri will be honored at the organization's 2006 Awards Banquet Nov. 4 at the historic Oak Ballroom in Schuyler.

Khouri will receive his award for outstanding contributions in the area of tree planting and the promotion of landscape enhancement in Nebraska.

According to the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum:

"Khouri provided leadership for the development of the Doane College Osterhout Arboretum for over a decade.  Under his vision and guidance as vice president for finance, Doane's campus landscape has become one of the most beautiful in Nebraska, with well-maintained historic plantings, improved educational values, increased community access and exciting new features including a campus/arboretum entryway and the recent renovation of the historic pergola, complete with a new seating plaza and outdoor classroom."
