Keeney Breaks School Record in Heptathlon

The Tiger track and field season got underway with the Happy Holidays Multi-Event Meet. One school record was broke in the meet.

In the men's heptathlon, Rob Keeney broke the school record with 5,194 points. Keeney topped the mark previously held by Forrest Gregory by one point. He won one event, the long jump, as he placed second overall. Todd Wildman, participating unattached, won the meet with 5,316 points.

Brad Higgins placed fifth with 4,805 points. He placed third in two events, the long jump and pole vault. Dustin Schwartz placed 14th overall with 2,855 points. Tiger alum Jonathan Pingel placed ninth with 4,451 points.

In the women's pentathlon, reigning GPAC champion Jillian Ourada placed fourth with 3,086 points. Lindsay Lettow of the University of Central Missouri won the meet with 3,775 points. Ourada's best event was a third place finish in the 800m run.

Courtney Richards placed seventh with 2,726 points. Her top scoring event came in the 55m hurdles. Kayti Mark placed eight with 2,591 points and Sara Bloom was ninth with 2,306 points.
