Information on the Passing of Cody Fanning

Photo of Cody Fanning MemorialDoane College is grieving the loss of one of our own.  A student passed away Wednesday evening, April 25, as a result of an off-campus vehicle accident in Crete. Twenty-year old Doane junior Cody Fanning fell from the back of a pickup truck bed and was severely injured at around 2:45 a.m. on the 25th.  

He was life-flighted to Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln for medical treatment.   

Cody came to Doane from Wauneta, Neb., a graduate of Wauneta-Palisade High School. He majored in business administration and was a key member of the football team.

"This is heartbreaking news for Cody's family and the Doane community. We extend our deepest sympathy to the family and all who are grieving," said Doane President Jacque Carter.

Counseling services continue to be available to students on the Crete campus.

Funeral Services for Cody Fanning will be held on Tuesday, May 1st at 10:30 a.m. (Mountain Time) at the Wauneta-Palisade High School Gymnasium in Wauneta, Nebraska. Click here for more information.


A private Memorial Service on the Crete campus is scheduled for Monday, May 14 at 11 a.m. in Heckman Auditorium.
