Hagerman Sits Atop the Charts

Tiger senior Rachel Hagerman collected 60 assists on Tuesday night, surpassing the Doane all-time assists record previously held by Dayna Nyland.  Hagerman entered the night three shy of breaking the record and now has 4,663 career assists.

Hagerman has 1,232 assists this year, third most in a year at Doane since rally-scoring was adopted in 2001.  She also leads the team in ace serves with 44 this year and is ninth all-time at Doane with 157 career ace serves.

In the four-game victory (30-23, 26-30, 30-26, 30-16) for Doane over Nebraska Wesleyan, junior middle hitter Kari Hochstein collected 23 kills and hit .463.  Sophomore middle hitter Chelsee Marvin posted 19 kills and five assists blocks.

The Tigers' back row defense was paced by senior Allison Weaver's 45 digs.  Kaylee Lubken added 34 digs.

Nebraska Wesleyan was led offensively by Brittny Barber's 12 kills.  Kirsten Foster collected 47 assists and libero Linsey Thomsen posted a game-high 57 digs.

With the victory, Doane will host in the first round of the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament on November 4.  The Tigers will face either Briar Cliff University or Concordia University.  Pairings for the conference tournament will be announced after the final regular season game on Wednesday between Northwestern College and Dordt College.  First serve will be at 7:30 p.m. in Fuhrer Field House.
