Garan Coons to Perform at Doane

Garan Coons, professional Native American dancer, singer, flute player, and storyteller is scheduled to perform atGaran Coons Doane on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at noon in Common Grounds.

Founder of The Many Moccasins dance troupe, Coons travels throughout the region sharing the Native American culture and providing an educational experience.  A member of the Oglala Lakota Tribe, Coons frequently speaks on Native American Cultural Issues and Leadership. He will perform at Doane as a part of Native American Heritage Month. He brings history to life through his Fancy Feather and Traditional Prairie Chicken dancing, as well as a narration of his dances.  

His presentation is sponsored by the Multicultural Support Services office, Nebraska Arts Council and Nebraska Cultural Endowment.  Bring your lunch and enjoy the event.
