Four Earn All-Nebraska Honors
The Omaha World Herald released their annual All-Nebraska team and four Tiger softball players were recognized for their accomplishments on the field. The NAIA team consisted of 13 players plus an honorable mention list.
Named to the team were shortstop Shelby Mendlik and outfielder Andrea Gonzales. Mendlik led the Tigers this year with a .413 batting average, 13 home runs and 36 runs batted in. She was named First Team All-GPAC and Louisville Slugger All-Region. Gonzales batted .408 with a team-high 12 doubles and seven stolen bases.
Christy Kobza and Brooke Sampson received honorable mention honors. Kobza hit .378 with 21 RBIs and 10 doubles. Sampson batted .333 with nine home runs and 31 RBIs. She led the team with 15 base-on-balls and nine hit-by-pitches.
