Five Tigers Earn All-GPAC Honors

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) announced the 2010 All-Conference team and five Tigers received recognition following a 9-7-1 overall record and fifth place finish in the conference standings.

Earning First Team All-GPAC honors were a pair of Tigers, Kelsey Bryant and Kelsie Grgurich.

Bryant, a defender out of Lincoln, received the honor for the second straight season. The Tiger senior helped anchor the Doane defense that allowed 1.47 goals per game.

Grgurich, a junior midfielder from Bellevue, tied for the team lead with seven assists and added three goals per game, including one game winner.

Earning honorable mention honors were Alyssa Davis, Mia Juarez and Sarah Medina.

Davis, a sophomore defender from Lincoln, started 16 games and posted two assists on the year for the Tigers.

Juarez, a freshman forward from Bellevue, tied with Grgurich for the team lead in assists with seven and added four goals. She ranked 34th in the NAIA in shots on goal per game.

Medina, a junior forward from Colorado Springs, Colo., was fourth on the team with six goals and third in assists with five.
