Exstrom's Four Goals Lead to Win

The women's soccer team put together a strong effort as they won their home opener over Northwestern Oklahoma State University, 4-2.  Doane scored twice in each half and held off a couple of strong scoring opportunities by the Rangers.

Doane received four goals from freshman Samantha Exstrom.  The goals were Exstrom's first of the season.  Jayne Wagner earned two assists while Emma Kucera, Anna Farlow and Heather Clymer also had assists.

NWOSU was led by Christina Nunez' two goals.  The Rangers were out-shot by Doane 18-14.  Doane was called for seven fouls compared to five for the Rangers.

In net, Alicia Exstrom allowed two goals while picking up nine saves for the Tigers.  Sierra Willard had 10 saves while allowing four goals for NWOSU.

Up Next
Doane will not be in action until Sept. 12 when the travel to Omaha to take on the Flames of College of St. Mary.  The game is scheduled to start at 5:00 pm.
