Dordt Snaps Tiger Win Streak

The Doane volleyball team saw their 10-match win streak come to an end on Friday evening as they were unable to overcome a week filled with illnesses and dropped a five-game match at Dordt College. Game scores were 25-19, 22-25, 26-24, 21-25, 15-9 in favor of the Defenders.

Doane was without senior libero Emily Schwisow and got senior right-side hitter Ivie Speer back for the match but neither practiced during the week. The Tigers turned to senior outside hitter Jessy Livers and freshman middle hitter Susan Rollman throughout the match. Both finished with 19 kills in the match for Doane. Rollman posted nine total blocks and Livers added four. Speer was in on six blocks.

Heather Davison finished with 28 set assists with Cassie Reicks adding 10. Livers led the team with 27 digs and Davison picked up 17.

Jana Van Zanten led Dordt with 20 kills.

Doane will take on No. 5 Northwestern College on Saturday evening.
