Doane Wins Dual with Neb. Wesleyan

Doane defeated Nebraska Wesleyan on Friday afternoon in a dual in Lincoln.  The men won 127-75 while the women won 117-73.

The men won 17 of 19 events on the day, paced by Jared Schuurmans' three wins in the field events.  Schuurmans won the shot put, discus and hammer throw.  Brian Pearson won the long and triple jump for the Tigers.  Adam Burmood won the javelin while Jordan Peterson took the pole vault championship.  Scott Neuhalfen and Tyler Milligan tied for first in the high jump.

In the relays, the Tigers won the 4x100 relay in an NAIA provisional time of 41.87.  The team consisted of Jess Wimmer, D'Artagnan Dai'Re, Maurice Smith and Kedrick Kelley.  In the 4x400 relay, the team of Wimmer, Lance Foster, Cody Ingold and Greg Torres ran an automatic qualifying time of 3:16.70.

Doane picked up victories from Dai'Re (200m), Torres (400m), Foster (800m), Josh Peavy (1,500m), Sufian Kimo (5,000m), Ingold (400m Hurdles) and Ben DeLay (3,000m steeplechase).

In women's action, Tawny Fye and Abby Schlueter won two events each.  Fye won the discus and hammer throw while Schlueter won the long and triple jump.  Kelcey Zutavern won the shot put, Kari Hochstein won the javelin, Meagan Bauer won the pole vault and Katie Bartels won the high jump.

The Tiger 4x400 relay team of Haley Bergstrom, Liz Prigge, Amanda Kermoade and Kym Bennett won in a time of 4:05.12.

Other Tiger victories came from Regan Carlstrom (100m), Deejay Silcott (200m), Megan Kinney (800m), Bennett (1,500m) and Erin Fogarty (400m Hurdles).
