Doane Tops Northwestern in Second Overtime

Doane put together a dominate performance on Saturday evening in women's soccer action but struggled to score as they went to double overtime with Northwestern College. It wasn't until the 107th minute that Doane was finally able to get a goal for a 1-0 victory.

The Tigers finished with 24 shots on goal compared to just one for Northwestern but Red Raider goalkeeper Jennifer Cantwell picked up 23 saves through the 107 minutes of play. Doane keeper Alicia Exstrom collected the one shot on goal for the shutout victory.

In the second overtime, Kelsie Grgurich picked up the game-winning goal to give the Tigers their ninth victory of the season and seventh in GPAC play. Doane finishes tied for fifth in the GPAC and will be the sixth seed in the conference tournament. The Tigers will have a 2:00 PM meeting at Dordt College on Thursday, November 5, in Sioux Center, Iowa.
